It's WAY about time FS had a radio station!!! http://www.tribe.net/message/fe09fd78-e80f-447f-b607-4fc8b5f90c5b

I'm a little far from Spiderhouse, but do let Jim know tomorrow that there is interest from the DFW burners. It's WAY about time FS had a radio station!!! AND we might be able to send a feed to to Playa Del Fuego, the burn event happening on the East Coast on that same weekend. I'm working with Shanta and Purgatory on the Crystal Ball Project, to try and get video/ Internet set up between the two events. Why not have radio while we're at it. -Geo

Bob! How many amps would you say my 40w

box, mixer, audio components, and say 500 Xmas lights,

might pull? The mixing board is a small Radio Shack, "DJ" unit.

OK..here my guess: (pull from the batteries at 12VDC

40W TX...exciter 1 amp

Power amp 6.5 Amps

Mixer 1.5 a

CD x 2 2.5 a

Lights? Oy! use high-eff flourecent screw-ins. 60W of light ea/13W draw

Hi-Eff lights x3 3 a

----------------------------------

14.5 A continuous draw

That means you need 14.5A X 1.15 (battery conversion loss)

16.5A charge from your panels .... around 240 watts would do it.

From: "Dave Umlas" <

Devo camp and radio station

We did this thing at BM one year, the Sound Tsunami. There was a

transmitter at 10 o clock, and all the big sound systems along the end road

would tune in at sunset for a half hour and play the transmission. The

whole playa became the beach for a while. Ocean sounds, seagulls, surf,

foghorns, freakin amazing. A big transmitter can make this happen. We can

record a "symphony of construction" (ugh) and get all the camps with big

sound to tune in for it. Fun Fun Fun. A very good chance for distributed

artwork. 40 Watts is huge! Yes! Do this! -D
